General Information
The Rochester Rifle Club is a civilian shooting organization affiliated with the National Rifle Association since 1914. We are also affiliated with the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), USA Shooting, and the Shooters Committee on Political Education (SCOPE).
RRC provides an indoor shooting range for .22 rimfire rifles, air pellet firearms and handguns of most calibers with reduced loads. Magnum cartridges and centerfire rifles are not allowed. There are twelve positions with hand-operated target carriers stopping at 10 meters and 50 feet.
The club is a membership, non-profit organization. Annual dues are very reasonable. Members have 24/7 access to the club via a keycard. Any time a special event is not scheduled, the club is available to members for casual shooting. The club also has several organized team activities that it supports. The Community Pistol League (CPL), NYS Sporterifle, and the RRC Junior club are among the team-oriented organized activities.
Juniors ages 12 - 20 are welcome to join the RRC Junior club program and/or the NYS Sporterifle program after receiving safety and marksmanship training from the program directors.
Special programs and activities are posted on the calendar at the club and on our online calendar. Special programs/activities takes precedence over informal shooting practice, but are limited in number, allowing many hours of range time for individual casual range use. See the approximate program schedule.
Competition is not a requirement. Casual practice for those who want it and competition for the competitors is a service that the Rochester Rifle club is proud to offer all members.
